Butterfly Party

The big party was on Sunday, the 12th!  It was a good day for a party all about being one since Julia & Emily were one year, one week, and one day old that day.  There was a 30% chance of rain and it rained all day.  We were told we had about a 15% chance of having twins, so I can't say I was surprised.  There were cute kids, balloons, cake and lots of butterflies, so it was still great despite the rain.  The girls didn't get overwhelmed like I thought they might.  Julia was beaming and soaking up all the attention when everyone sang Happy Birthday.  Neither one seemed to know that cake was for eating.  Emily fussed when her aunt put some frosting in her mouth and abruptly stopped when she realized it was delicious!  Only one year ago all they could do was eat, sleep and poop.  Now they are two little bundles of personality on the go.  What a big year!

Our first time coloring!  Making thank you notes for some special people in North Dakota.  Notice the scrap on Julia's head...she fell during their one year photo shoot.  And she crawled in the mud.  And she pooped through her dress.  We aren't holding out much hope that those photos are going to turn out well.
